In my minimalistic work, I completely reject any narrative or representation as meaning and endow objects with pure forms with additional functions not peculiar to these objects, playing on the contrasts of function and form. After all, no one expects that the chair can glow? Fascinated by the artist’s insistence on creating his own world of self-expression, I fantasise over the metaphor «Fog» in the VEIL furniture collection.
The concept is based on the metaphor of a natural phenomenon — fog. The glow of objects in a veil of thick fog served as inspiration for creating images in the VEIL furniture collection. And the photographic technique of luminography supplemented the form. In search of the possibility of the most accurate transfer of metaphor to the subject, I was looking for material that would give a one hundred percent hit in the visual component of the fog. Such a material was a matte polycarbonate with a thickness of 20 mm. Kant is a fluoride polymer.
