«focus» is a long-sighted poster. Near the image looks like a pattern, but from a distance there’s a word call. The work explores the phenomenon of acodication and turns visual experience into a metaphor for a professional look: sometimes, to see the most important thing, you have to move away.

The project addresses the subject of the perception of text and image, depending on the distance and condition of the visual system. The poster was based on a visual metaphor of long-sightedness: from a close distance, the image seems vague and unreadable, but the key word «focus» appears in the distance. It’s a principle that refers to the features of an eye accompaniment in hypermetropy, when the image’s focus is formed behind a retina, and it’s easier for a person to distinguish remote objects than close ones. Far-sightedness is one of the most common visual impairments. According to the World Health Organization, more than 1.5 billion people suffer from various forms of presbiopia and hypermetropy. However, many learn about the diagnosis only at a time when the need to reschedule a book or screen becomes part of everyday experience.
