Rakosaari is located at the north end of the Niemil Strait fairway, between the mainland and the island of Maya.

The audio art park project on Rakosari Island is an attempt to hear space. The concept involves creating a unique environment in which sound becomes the main vector of perception. Spaces for sound research, recreation and audio festivals are carefully integrated into the island ' s landscape and existing architecture. The project develops the Territory ' s cultural and tourist potential and responds to the need for local Peterburg sound art in a living place for creativity and interaction.

Rakosaari Tower
The tower is the audio and visual center of the island. Its shape is the echo of relief, and its essence is the concentration of sound. The tower captures the sounds of Rakosaari, reinforces them and releases them in the silence of the well.
Sound Studio
Sound laboratory
The sound lab is a place to create sound cards, to run wolfshops in a festival, or just a workspace. It is located in an expendable cellar (2).

Place of silence
The place of silence is the space for meditation, for a moment in which you can hear your heart. It is located in an expendable cellar (3).

Summer Audience Festival

Art Park can serve as a universal venue for sound festivals at any time of the year. In summer and winter, its space is transformed into different forms and functions, depending on the concept of the activity. The summer festival invites us to listen to the living music of nature, where every move is a chord, every gust of wind is improvisation. It’s a time when the island isn’t silent, it’s singing, and a man becomes a part of this warm choir.

Winter Audience Festival

The winter festival is dedicated to the study of the island’s unique sound during the cold season: the crunch of snow under the feet, the cod of frozen ice, and the cracking of the fire. These natural sounds are becoming the main heroes of events and the practice of the festival.
Special conditions are created for the safe passage to the island during the winter of the year: pontoons are placed on the ice to which the ringing elements are attached. These sounds accompany visitors from the very beginning of their journey, turning the road to the island into a first sonic adventure.
Warm fire-cup hot spots have been set up on the foodcort and on the dock to be comfortable in the fresh air. They can warm up, have hot tea, and discuss impressions, taking stock of sound research and practice.
